What we're doing to improve accessibility

As part of a broader initiative in the digital services team at East Riding of Yorkshire Council, we are committed to putting procedures in place to make sure all internally managed websites remain accessible. These include:

  • a dedicated website administrator tasked to identify and address accessibility issues in response to user feedback and Silktide reports
  • an ongoing training programme for designers, developers, website contributors and moderators on how to deliver accessible web pages from the ground-up.
  • We are also investigating ways to test, and gain feedback on, our website with real users from across East Riding of Yorkshire.
